Doodles
Observations on the banks of the River Avon.
Mark Making is one of the fundamental skills of an artist but is accessible as a form of expression to each and every one of us. Most people would probably refer to what is traditionally called 'mark making' as 'doodling', which is what I prefer to call it. Whether or not it's true, the shapes and definition of the lines we draw are believed to reveal our current underlying mental state. I don't entirely agree, as that would suggest that the subconscious has greater control than the conscious. This would disregard our visual awareness, and ability to record shapes and replicate them later - part of our very conscious sensitivity.
Medium: Lino and gauze (found) prints
